Selling Skills Focus activity around Sacred Contact Time

Telemarketing Team

Leading sales training with a telemarketing team, in answer to the question, ‘What’s the best time of day to connect with the people on your list?’ After discussion we settled on 10 am to 12:15 pm, then 2:15 pm to 4:15 pm.

Next question, ‘What time do you go to lunch?’

One team member revealed regularly taking their lunch break 2 pm – 3 pm each day. Why? Because it was preferred to have lunch at that time.

‘So, you’re continuing to call prospects through the standard lunch hour,1 pm to 2 pm, a time of day with a lower connect rate. Then at 2 pm, when people are coming back from lunch, that’s when you take your lunch?!’

In many businesses, 9 am to 12:15 pm and 2:15 pm to 4:15 pm is Sacred Contact Time. The key contact hours of the day are devoted to staying in touch with the people that matter, our valued prospects and clients.
