* For best results, this workshop is most often delivered as a two-day program (maximum 10 participants) with the second day mainly presenting to video then playback, with self, peer and Facilitator critique.
It may be delivered as a one-day program (up to 16 participants) with minimal or no presenting by participants.
Video critique
A two-day workshop (maximum 10 participants) with the second day mainly presenting to video then playback and self, peer and Facilitator critique. Participants comment how valuable it is to see yourself as others see you!
We've seen many a bad habit, such as:
- verbal mannerisms ('um', 'you know', 'now')
- poor eye contact
- distracting movement
cured, simply by seeing themselves played back on video.
We've also seen amateur speakers transform, skilled presenters become more confident and polished with the guidance of our experienced and savvy Facilitator.

1. Diagnostic Conversation TM
There's no obligation, but if you do decide to go ahead, we can forward this info to our Facilitator as your 'brief', describing your specific learning and business-related outcomes.
Once your course is confirmed, we send our 'scenarios request' e-mail for you to forward to your people requesting them to send in short situations or dilemmas they may experience in the workplace relevant to the topic. Alternatively, you can simply come up with 5 or 6 that are representative.
In addition, our experienced and qualified Facilitator will contact you by phone prior to the workshop to confirm logistics and what you'd like emphasised or focused on.
Like YouTube, these appeal to today's professionals.
Case Study
Their key people were inexperienced presenters.
We videoed each of their introduction and opening, then a minutes of their presentation, then their ending and handling of Q&A. We invited self, peer and Facilitator feedback.
Classic mistakes of most novices were evident:
- lack of eye contact, or favouring one side of the room
- jiggling of legs or fidgeting of hands
- vocal mannerisms, ('um', 'ah')
- lack of fluency, nor an engaging conversational style
- talking 'at' their audience
- over-reliance on notes or PowerPoint.
Over the two days, the transformation was profound. Amateur presenter became competent, confident presenter became masterful.
What do people say about our Presentation Skills workshop?
‘Our education specialist who attended the training commented it was evident participants made significant changes to the way they presented. She would be confident the team would increase their engagement with participants during seminars and workshops, and there would be a better result.
Rob Brown, Manager Client Service, Sunsuper
‘Covered a lot of topics in short time and managed to grasp basics of a good presentation and make noticeable improvement in a short time.’
